Healthcare Breaches Most Costly to Remediate

A study has found that healthcare data breaches are the costliest to remediate, at $363 per exposed personally identifiable (PII) record, compared with $154 in other industries.

In addition, researchers found that the cost of remediating data breaches is increasing. The cost of data breaches due to malicious or criminal attacks increased from an average of $159 in last year’s study to $170 per record this year.
